Da Loom
Here's a picture of the little loom I got in the auction on Saturday.

It looks a little sad at the moment, but I think its happy it has a new home now. With some cleaning and fixing I think it will be a good loom, esp for beginning weaving. All it needs is some fiber love!
I do look forward to being able to use it in the not so distant future.
Not too much else going on around here at the moment. Jes has been out selling Girl Scout cookies this weekend with two of her friends from the troop. They did pretty well, sold quite a few boxes, and were very professional about it. Michael, my son, is starting Boy Scouts today. He has been asking to do this for a long time, and my friend Vickie found a troop in his age bracket. Her son is going to, so Michael will have a friend there. He's very excited about it!
I got to see the new house this weekend. What a difference from 5 months ago when I first saw it. Its been an amazing transformation. It looks sooo good!!! The drywall folks start this week, so it will look even better very shortly. Then comes paint, floors, and a few other things and its DONE!!! WOOHOO!!! I'm so excited about it! Cant wait to get moved in!!!
Gotta run! Bye Bye!

"Da Loom" looks pretty good...any idea what make it is, and how old??
When I fixed up my Great Wheel, I cleaned it with 50/50 turps and linseed oil...and now it glistens!
No idea of who made it, havent found any marks on it with names. The gal who donated it to the auction said she got it in a box of stuff she bought to sell at her store and it was stuffed in the bottom. So it hasnt had any fiber love in about 15 years.
Great idea on the turps and linseed, I was wondering what I would use to clean it up.
