Feeling Lazy

I think the hustle of the past month and assorted holidays has finally caught up with me. I sure didn't want to get out of bed this morning and face another day. Bed was so warm and cozy and nice, it felt too good to get out. I think I will just take it easy today, and let myself do some knitting for a good long time.

The kids and I do start another fun filled week of homeschool today too! We are all looking forward to that. Secretly though, I think the kids want another week off! I am excited about the fact that at the new house I will have a larger dining room table for doing school at, instead of working at our miniscule kitchen table where everything falls off if you breath too hard.

The birdie girl that had the prolaps the other day, had it again yesterday. It seems to be correcting itself though, so I'm not going to get to worried about it until I find it doesn't. She lays really big eggs for her size. All the other girlies are doing very well at the moment too. Rosie the goose seems to have it in for my daughter for some reason lately. She chased her around the coop and pinned her in the corner the other day, hissing and honking at the top of her lungs. Very unlike her normal goosie behavior of just running away from people. She does have a "thing" about the white chickens. It seems you aren't allowed to touch them without earning her express disapproval. I think she is of the impression that white chickens are her "children" cus they sorta look like her in the sense that they are white. Even though my daughter didn't touch any of "her" white chickens, some bird squawked when she went in to collect eggs and that evidently was enough to set Rosie off on a goose rampage. I had to go rescue my daughter from the mad goosie attack. Mike and I later had a discussion with Rosie on the accepted forms of behavior, Christmas dinner, and so on. It seems to have sunk in, as she was quite well behaved yesterday. I also discovered that Rosie is the one that has been snacking on Mr. Snowie the turkey's feathers, making him look akin to a porcupine at the moment. This was also a topic of discussion with her. Wether that sunk in or not is yet to be seen.

Ah the joys of life on the homestead!

Gotta Run! Bye Bye!
