Science Fun
The kids and I went to the library yesterday to see the science program that was being presented. We had lots of fun watching different science projects that were shown by one of the state college students. We learned about ratio with a fan and a strobe light, energy, vacuums, air pressure, and the most fun, was dry ice and liquid nitrogen. The student froze racquet balls in the nitrogen then shattered them. He also sunk a balloon in the nitrogen, it shriveled up, and when he took it out, it went right back to being a balloon. The most dramatic part was when he tossed the nitrogen on the floor and made a huge cloud in front of the kids. It was a really neat program, well presented, with great explanations that the kids could understand. Everyone had a great time!
I believe that my little turkey gal, Mrs Burbie, has decided to become broody. She is still laying eggs, almost daily, but now she wants to sit on them. Even when they are taken out from under her, she stays right in the box all day, making cooing noises. I was hoping that she wouldn't get broody until after we move, and closer to spring, but we cant choose these things can we? I'm not even sure that her eggs are fertile at this time, since there hasn't been any "action" between her and Mr. Burbie. Unless they are sneaking behind the shed when nobody is watching.
Our Girl Scout troop is starting the annual cookie selling adventure this coming Saturday. Yes, we get to go door to door peddling our cookie wares to an unsuspecting public. Jes is very excited about this, which is good, since I was afraid she would get scared about it and not want to go. She has her eye on one of the prizes she can win, and has become very determined about getting it.
Still packing up the house here. The wall-o-cardboard is rising to new heights every day. I may actually get this done! LOL! Although, it is getting tough to walk around in here, skirting boxes and all.
Time to get moving! Bye Bye!
